Namaste from Wapsa!

The distribution day- the village committee had organized a grand welcome program despite my request to keep it low profile. They did it from their heart, so we didn’t want to disappoint them and be rude either. It was a great welcome and appreciation ceremony. They called out names of 30 houses, and we distributed the package to each of them. The package contained a dozen sheets of galvanized tin roof, 30 kg rice, cooking oil, salt, sugar, tea leaves for each one of them.

Later our boys helped make a few makeshift shelters for the monsoon. They cannot rebuilt their houses until the monsoon is over, so these shelters will work brilliant for now. They were all happy. In the evening all 30 houses decided to stay together under the big canvas near the school. They slaughtered a pig for the whole village. Everyone dressed up beautifully and we all had a great feast which was followed by dancing and merry making!

Thank you all for your generosity and support. The people of Wapsa have sent you love and gratitude.
